How do I prevent shock loading on my scale?

One of our customers doesn't understand why their scale needs the load cell replaced on a regular basis. During a visit we noticed the customer dropping a 200 lb gas cylinder on the scale from a height of 4 to 6 inches. We informed the customer that this impact was damaging the load cells. Can you provide additional information about shock loading?

I'm using a HI 2151/30WC with an analog output option card for the load weight on an overhead crane. I'm using the remote functions NET & TARE on the input terminals. When I place the controller in NET mode, using the terminals (or the front pushbutton), the analog output is still in GROSS. Is there a way to get the analog output option card to output the NET weight when the controller is in NET mode?
