Question

Why would my Hardy Instrument shut down at the same time every day?

Answer

Any piece of electronic equipment can be forced into a shut down condition when a dip in power occurs (brown-out). For example, a dip in power can occur when large rotating machinery is started that is on the same power source.

Cycling power to your Hardy controller will normally restore the loss of memory caused by the power fluctuation. Sometimes, the instruments memory can become corrupted and cause erratic operations. If you experience odd behavior after a power loss or brown-out, you may need to reset your memory back to factory default settings. Please review additional WebTech answers for performing this task.

Supplying computer clean power should prevent this condition from happening. You may need to purchase an uninterrupted power supply (UPS) or active tracking filter that will provide power protection.
