New HIDS Drum Scales!
Click Here to Learn More! The flashing green LED on the HI 1746WS module indicates it is communicating with the SLC processor. This is as it should be.
If your HI 1746WS has a flashing red fault led, it normally indicates the input from the load cells is out of range.
Typically the following possibilities apply.
1.The wiring is incorrect on one of the following items.
a.) Load cell or cable
b.) Connectors
c.) Cable runs and intermediate termination points.
2. The load cell is installed incorrectly.
a. Upside down
b. Bind or rub that forces the load cell to a negative signal output.
c. Too much weight on the scale.
3. The load cell is damaged
a.) Impact
b.) Welding
c.) Lightning
d.) Miss-handling the load cell or cable.
Some things to check are:
a) Measure voltage between +/- EXC. This should be +5v. (ref to -EXC).
b) Measure voltage between +/- Sen. This should be +5v (ref to -SEN).
c) Measure voltage between +/- SIG. This should be from 0 to +15 mv (ref to -SIG).
The reading between +/- SIG is the one that will normally cause the flashing red fault led if it is not in range. The other major cause would be missing voltage on the +/- SEN. There must be a jumper or sense lines between the +EXC and +SEN, and -EXC and -SEN.
