Why is my HI 4050 weight drifting after I install the Remote I/O option?

Last updated 07/29/2015 10:24 AM

Question

My HI 4050 weight reading is stable until I installed the Remote I/O option. After installing the option I am seeing weight fluctuations around 3 in 10,000. Why would the RIO option affect the weight reading stability?

Answer

Please check your Remote I/O option circuit board (p/n 0535-0549-01) to see if it is Rev A. If it is Rev A then you may experience a 3 in 10,000 level of instability. If you have Rev B or higher, then the level of drift should be 1 in 10,000 or better.

If the higher level of drift on Rev A Remote I/O circuit boards is a concern, please contact Hardy Tech Support to receieve a Return Authorization to rework your Rev A Remote I/O option board to Rev B or higher.
