Why doesn't the zero command function on my HI 1746WS?

Last updated 11/02/2015 03:16 AM

Question

What are the possible causes for the zero command to not function correctly on my HI 1746WS weigh scale module?

Answer

There are three considerations that must be met for the zero command to function properly on your HI 1746WS module.

1.  Is the zero function enabled? Word 15, bit 5 must be on, indicating that zero is enabled. If it is not enabled, the zero enable parameter needs to be set through the M0 file, word # 57.

2. Is the scale in motion? Word 15, bit 6 must be off indicating the scale is not in motion. If it is in motion, either the weight is changing on the scale, or the motion tolerance is too low.

3.  Is the current gross weight, plus any previously zeroed gross weight, less than the zero tolerance? If the total weight deviation from the calibration zero point is greater than the zero tolerance, it will not zero. The way to verify this error is to run the Zero Command #1 through the M files and check the status return for the out of tolerance response.
