Why does my HI 1756WS have a steady red LED for the Scale Status?

Last updated 04/07/2014 08:41 AM

Question

My HI 1756WS Scale Status LED is steady red. Are there field diagnostics for isolation of the failure or must the module be returned to the factory for evaluation?

Answer

A solid red scale led on the HI 1756WS or HI 1756-2WS module indicates a fatal error in the input section of the module. If the module experienced a voltage fluctuation causing a corruption you can try sending a command to return the module to default settings with the "Set Default Parameters" (SETDEFAULTPARAMS) command to see if the corruption can be cleared. If this is the cause of the problem, then the module should return to normal. If the Scale Status LED stays solid red after returning to default settings, then the module would need to be returned for evaluation and/or repair. If you need to send the unit in, please call Hardy Tech Support for a Return Authorization number or go to "Factory Repair form" to request an RA number online.
