New HIDS Drum Scales!
Click Here to Learn More!Your HI 2110WI, HI 2151/30WC or the older HI 2151/20WC, the weight readings will not ZERO or TARE, the first question would be: "Are there any error codes when trying to tare or zero the scale?"
If you get an "ERROR 4", this would indicate that the scale is in motion. The unit will not ZERO or TARE when in motion. You would need to either remove the cause of the motion on the scale, or increase the "Motion Tolerance" in the setup menu to be larger than the amount of fluctuation in the weight.
If you get an "ERROR 6" when trying to ZERO, this indicates that you are trying to zero off more weight that your Zero Tolerance is set to allow. This will not, however, stop the unit from performing a TARE. To clear the "ERROR 6" message, you will need to clear your tank in order to remove the accumulated build-up or increase the value of your Zero Tolerance.
If you are not getting a response when you press a keypad button, then the buttons may either be locked out or bad. Check to insure the "LOCKOUT" switch on the back of the unit is off. Also, try entering the "Self-Test" by pressing the "Test/Clr" button. Once it has scrolled through all the settings, it will stop at a keyboard check. At this time, press all buttons one at a time (except for the "0/Exit" button) and see if the display responds with the name of the key you pressed. If satisfied with button operation, press the "0/Exit" to discontinue the test.
If you do not get an error, the dip switches are off, and all the buttons work, then the recommendation would be to clear the memory on the unit (see attached file). If the unit still will not tare or zero after all the above, then it will need to be returned for repair.
