Why can't I change the RIO address parameters on my HI 2151/20WC?

Last updated 04/08/2014 04:36 AM

Question

I have three Hardy HI 2151/20WC Weight Controllers and I am trying to change the Rack number, Quarter number, and Last Quarter. After I change this address parameter data I reboot (power down then power up) and the data is replaced with the same old values again. Why doesn't it retain the new settings after rebooting?

Answer

The HI 2151/20WC requires a reboot to set the R-I/O address.

Please note that the HI 2151/20WC was discontinued in 2001 when many components became obsolete, including the Secure Memory Module (SMM). The HI 2151/20WC SMM incorporates the use of a built in battery to store memory during power loss, and the shelf life is 7 years. Once your SMM battery dies and you experience a power loss, you will lose your configuration data and we do not have a replacement available.

We highly recommended you replace your HI 2151/20WC with a current model Hardy controller before that happens. Please contact your Local Hardy Rep to review your application requirements and determine which current model Hardy controller is right for you.
