An Integrated Technician Summing card is required to have IT capabilities.
After calibration is complete all IT features are available with both C2® load sensors and non-C2® load cells.
Hardy Process Solutions offers INTEGRATED TECHNICIAN (IT) on most units. On the plug in PLC modules it would be required to run ladder logic to run the test. NOTE: If the Add on Profile was used to install the HI 1756 modules, you can run IT in the Add on Profile dialog boxes.
Most other units will allow the IT test from either the front keypad or over communications or a built in browser.
The HI 1746 WS module requires the WS 100 configuration software to run the IT test.
One difference with Integrated Technician using C2 or Non-C2 load cells is the way the Excitation Monitor resistance is established. Excitation monitoring is only available in the HI 2151/30WC, HI 1746WS, and the HI 1756WS and -2WS models.
When C2® load sensors are used, the load cell resistance used for fault detection comparison is using the load sensor resistance recorded during manufacture testing.
When non-C2® load cells are used the load cell resistance used for fault detection in Integrated Technician is the resistance that is measured at the time of the last calibration.
If the non-C2® load cell had a pre-existing problem causing an improper resistance reading at time of initial calibration this would not be detected by the Integrated Technician feature of the instrument. Also a good reason to not calibrate the scale as part of the troubleshooting process. Calibration will wipe out valued information that can help diagnose the system.
The second is the when Using C2 load cells the number of load cells is automatically established. With Non-C2 load cell that number must be entered manually when entering the test menus.
