Where can I find an installation check list for my Hardy weighing hardware?

Question

I am installing a new weighing system with Hardy controller, load points and summing box. Is there a check list of issues I should be aware of?

Answer

Process Weighing Installation Checks

1. 1.  Initial cable routing away from high voltage sources and supply cables.

a. Allow a service loop from the load sensor to the lower frame.

b. Secure the cable to the tray (leg or any other means the load cell mount top portion is attached to the non-weighing portion of the scale system) and the lower frame to minimize cable flex at the load sensor entrance and if required allow a flex loop for mechanical travel.

c. Always land the shield at all locations indicated.
i.Summing card load sensor position.
ii. Summing card home run cable position.
iii.On the load sensor connector at the weight controller connection.
iv.With all the shields in place, test the ground with an ohm meter.

At the summing junction card, measure from any shield connection to the equipment frame.
2.This measurement should be less than one ohm.
3.If not it indicates the Controller ground is not earth ground.
4. Check your system bonding to ground.

  1. Match the color codes to the terminals of the Integrated Technician summing junction card.
    1. There is a color code/identification flag on the load sensor cable.
    2. The color code is also in the manual and the load sensor drawing.
