Click Here to Learn More!We recommend you purchase a complete spare controller if you have a critical process. A critical process can be defined as "how much money will you lose if your system is down?" If that amount of money is more than a spare controller you should consider purchasing a spare. Although Hardy Process Solutions has a very low failure rate, they do fail on occasion. Lightning strikes, pest infestation, power surges and other events can damage your controller. A spare instrument is insurance for an emergency situation.
Summing boards and load sensors can fail or be damaged, so we recommend you purchase a spare. If a load sensor does fail it is usually due to overloading, welding, lightning, or impact shock. If you believe this may happen at your facility you should consider purchasing a spare load sensor. Summing card damage is typically due to water entering the summing card enclosure. If you are in a heavy wash down environment a spare summing card should be purchased.
You may need spare parts for your Hardy weight controller, especially if they are in a wash down or caustic environment. Parts you should have include gaskets and keypads. You can contact your local Hardy Rep, or you can contact Hardy directly (hsc@hardysolutions.com) for spares part numbers and pricing.
We do not recommend you purchase spare circuit boards as we revise and modify these circuit boards occasionally. We also do not recommend customers replace circuit boards due to ESD considerations. Static discharge from your hands can damage sensitive electronic components. Using ESD grounding wrist straps and other static protection whenever working on the electronic boards is appropriate.
