When you use the "BUTTON" on the HI 1756-2WS, do both channels calibrate?

Last updated 04/21/2014 08:28 AM

Question

When you use the "BUTTON" on the HI 1756-2WS, does it calibrate both channels simultaneously? How do you calibrate one channel and not the other? When one channel is being calibrated, does the other channel continue to function?

Answer

When you use the "BUTTON" on the HI 1756-2WS two channel unit, it will calibrate only one channel at a time. It is a two button press operation. When the button is pressed and held the first time, it will cause the scale leds to light one at a time in an alternating pattern. When the scale led for the scale needing calibration is lit, the button is released. At this time, the scale led will start flashing. When the button is pressed momentarily with the scale led flashing, the C2® calibration will be performed on that channel.

NOTE: If the button is not pressed the second time, the flashing scale led will stop flashing after several seconds and the leds will return to normal operating state without making any changes. During the calibration of one scale, the other scale will continue to operate in a normal manner.

NOTE: If you have a HI 1756WS you do not have a dual channel controller and when you push the "BUTTON" the first time, it will light scale one led only without switching to scale two.  Then the second button press will cause the scale to calibrate.

With firmware version 2.3 or later, the button can be disabled.  If the button is disabled, it will do nothing when pressed.
