Question

What will be displayed on my Hardy weight controller following a power loss and recovery?

Answer

The HI 3010, HI 3030, and HI 4050 have an Event Log that will indicate when the unit was powered up. So if any of these units lost power, the Event Log would show this when the power came back up.

None of the other Hardy weight controllers have any power failure indicators. At power restoration, the unit reloads the saved configuration information from the Secure Memory Module (SMM), re-starts any communications, and then resumes outputting and displaying weight.

There have been instances where an instrument lost power after a batch had started and when the power was restored prior to the batch being completed, the Hardy Controller resumed control and communications. When the final weight was reached the batch was stopped. But there is no guarantee that your process will not be interrupted.

A power loss may also contribute to memory corruption for all instruments with a SMM.
