What is the update and response time for Series 3000 Controllers?

Question

What is the update and response time for Series 3000 Controllers that are connected together on the Hardy Ethernet network using only one PLC interface?

Answer

The attached document provides an overview of the time for weight readings to travel from the scale to the PLC in a system where several 3030’s are networked with Ethernet. It is written for the HI 3030, but also applies to the HI 3010.

This timing information only pertains to the speed of the electronics in the above listed controllers across communications lines. The speed at which you can obtain a final weight reading is also limited by the mechanical reaction of the load point. This mechanical reaction delay will make the final scale reading slower.

The differential in one or two updates is due to when the weight reading arrives in the communication queue and the next scan time.  Just missing a scan adds time to the communications connection.
