What is the temperature range for the C2® chip?

Last updated 08/04/2014 03:41 AM

Question

What is the acceptable temperature range for the C2® chip located inside the load cell or at the end of the cable?

Answer

The acceptable temperature range for the C2® device is -40 degrees C to +85 degrees C. If you go below -40 degrees C you can permanently damage your C2® chip. If you go above +85 degrees C your C2® chip will not function properly, but as long as you don't go above +140 degrees C your C2® chip should not be permanently damaged and should work normally once you get back below +85 degrees C. If you go above +140 degrees C, you can permanently damage your C2® chip.

This temperature range is higher than the standard load cell.  Hardy does offer a few high temperature load sensor to 400 F and that is the reason for having C2 chips that will handle such a high range.
