What is the operational temperature range for Hardy Junction Boxes?

Last updated 07/29/2015 10:32 AM

Question

What is the operational (specified) temperature range for the HI 215JB standard Hardy junction box and for the HI 215IT Integrated Technician junction box?

Answer

The operating temperature range for the HI 215IT and HI 215JB summing junction boxes are +10 degrees C to +40 degrees C. The metal contacts in the connectors are affected by extreme temperature changes and is the main failure at the those temperatures. Care and consideration should be taken in extreme environments where the plastic connectors can become brittle, pliable, and break if handled.

We recommend using weather appropriate wire crimps to secure the load cell wires in parallel as follows:

All + excitation and + sense wires connected together.
All - excitation and - sense wires connected together.
All + signal wires connected together
All - signal wires connected together
All C2 + wires connected together. (gray)
All C2 + wires connected together. (violet)

Please verify that the Sense lines are properly attached to the correct Excitation lines.
