Question

What is the difference between the zero tolerance and auto zero tolerance parameters on the HI 3010?

Answer

The zero tolerance parameter on the HI 3010 is a unit-of-weight value that the discharge cycle monitors to ensure the discharge process is complete. The discharge routine actively tests the on-scale weight against the zero tolerance limits. If the scale gross weight is within the zero tolerance limits, discharge is considered complete.

Auto zero tolerance parameter is when start is enabled and the OK to fill is not active. The HI 3010 verifies the scale is not in motion, the gross weight does not exceed the auto zero tolerance range, and then zeros the scale weight to gross zero. This process continues until the auto zero timer has elapsed or the OK to fill input activates. When the scale is out of motion, auto tare performs a tare function and resumes the duty of starting from NET zero, ignoring any bags, boxes, or packaging material weight.
