Question

What is the color code between the junction box and controller using Hardy C2 cable?

Answer

Most of our customers use the below C2® cable color code between a Hardy Instrument (both the stand alone units and the PLC modules) and the summing junction box, as follows:

Braid = Shield
Violet = C2® -
Gray = C2® +
Black = Exc -
Brown = Sense -
White = Sig -
Green = Sig +
Blue = Sense +
Red = Exc +

Without knowing what the color code of your load cells is, we can only recommend our standard "West Coast" color code. If your load cell color code is different than the above we would recommend you follow your load cell color code in the summing junction box so that the connections use the same color code all the way from the load cell to the weight controller.

Do not connect the shield to ground in the summing box. Only connect the shield to ground at the controller for a single point ground system.  The shield terminals in the summing junction box are isolated and do not go to ground.  These are used as a pass thru to provide a path to earth ground at the controller.
