Click Here to Learn More! The Target window is the allowable plus and minus deviation from the target weight that constitutes an acceptable batch. This can be expressed using an acceptable delivery deviation by weight or a percentage.
If you had a fill application and the target weight was 100, you would need to set a standard of allowable weight deviation. An example of an allowable weight would be 99.6 to 100.4 of product delivered. This would be noted in the Target window menu parameter as Target Max + 0.4 and a target Min - 0.4.(Or .4 percent +/-). If you had this stated as a weight and reduced your target to 10 lbs this may result in a larger than desired deviation. Keeping a percentage of target is better when the target weight is varied by a significant amount. +/- 0.4% of 10 lbs or 100 lbs work better.
You may want to raise the target minimum under setting to -0.1%. It is better for the low weight to be equal to or above the advertised weight. Over delivery is usually less of a problem and control is seen as acceptable above and not below a selected number.
The process delivers product until the target weight is satisfied. The delivery stops as soon as the settled weight is within the target window. Parameters that help achieve the proper target are: Smart Pre act, Jog, Wait, and Auto Fast Adjust.
