Question

What does a flashing power light indicate on my HI 3000 series controller?

Answer

1.  A flashing power indicator on an HI 3000 series controller (which includes the HI 3010, and the HI 3030) is an indication of a hardware failure.  The controller will need to returned to the factory for repair.

2.  A secondary cause is if you are using the DeviceNet option, with AC power and the DeviceNet DC power installed the AC power light will flash at power on.  Disconnect the positive lead of the DC power from the DeviceNet net work.  The HI 3030 can supplying  the DC power for a very small network.  The problem is when there is another power supply on the DeviceNet network causing interaction.

3.  If you add a second Analog out card to your HI3030, the controller requires modification to handle the second card.  the LED in the back will flash, but the front display may be blank.  If removing on Analog card fixes the symtoms.  Ther controller will need to be returned for modification.
