Question

What defines a fill/dispense cycle on a HI 3010?

Answer

A fill/dispense cycle is defined as one complete process. If the process is to fill a correctly positioned bag with 10 engineering units of material, discharge that bag and wait for the next bag to be moved into position, this process is considered one cycle.

Filling is considered when the target box or packaging material, to be filled, is sitting on the scale.  A Gain in Weight application

A dispensing cycle is a Loss in Weight application where the product is batched out of a scale into a process or container. That scale hopper of waiting to be dispensed product is monitored for level and refills automatically, if configured.  Dispensing from a large scale in small batches is considered a lower accuracy dispensing method. For the more accurate application, a filling process onto a smaller scale will produce higher accuracy.

If you wanted 100 bags filled, you would set the cycles (on the front keypad) to 100. At the end of the 100th bag being filled, the fill or dispense process would stop.

For continuous fill/dispenses put zero (0) in for the number of cycles.
