What data is contained in the 4 bytes from the HI 200DNWM?

Question

I am using the HI 200DNWM module and I noticed there are 4 bytes from the module to the scanner card. Does this contain status information or just the weight ?

Answer

The HI 200DNWM has 4 bytes of polled data to the scanner module. The default data for these 4 bytes of data is the Net weight in the units (lb/kg) in which the module is calibrated. The weight data is a 32 bit integer value with three decimal point resolution. The default mapping of data in the scanner module will be LSW (lower 16 bits) then MSW (upper 16 bits). If the weight exceeds 15 bits of data (32.767), then the two words would need to be converted to a float value to be interpreted correctly.

If you have the Series B module, you can request specific data to be transferred in these 4 bytes of output data. You would do this by writing the parameter ID number, for the parameter you wish to read, into the output table being transferred to the unit. This will then cause the unit to write the selected parameters' data into the output table. This data may be in either integer or floating point format, depending on the Multiplier setting.
