What are the advantages of using load cells as compared to flow meters?

There are advantages to using load cells (weight measurement) rather than flow meters in some applications and environments, such as:

1. When weight measurements must be non-intrusive. Nothing comes into contact with the product. This prevents contamination of the device or the product.

2. Weight measurement accuracy is not affected by material density or temperature changes. Flow meters can not automatically compensate for material characteristic changes.

3. Weight measurements are not affected by material dust, fog, foaming or cavitation characteristics.

4. Weight measurement allows different products to be measured with the same equipment (standardization).
