New HIDS Drum Scales!
Click Here to Learn More!Integrated Technician (IT) is a feature that allows the user to measure the mV signal coming from the load cells. When using IT you will only see the signal on the load cell you select. If your process is expecting to see the summed signal of all load cells you should not enter into the IT feature. You should halt your process before you read the individual IT signals.
The HI 215IT Junction Box cannot be used with any equipment with excitation voltages above 5vdc. The IT summing board is NOT compatible with the HI 1771WS, HI 2151/20WC or the HI 2160RC due to higher than 5 vdc excitation. Also, the Integrated Technician summing board is not compatible with the HI 2204LT, HI 2201LT, HI 200DNWM, HI 3010 or the HI 2110WI as they do not have the "IT" capabilities.
The HI 215IT boards require the C2 connections to supply the proper voltage to place the relays into states that would give you the proper output. Without this voltage, the output would be about 9 mV, which is the ref voltage.
The following instruments do have IT capabilities:
HI 2151/30WC
HI 1746WS
HI 1756 WS
HI 1756-2WS
HI 1756-FC
HI 1756-1DF
HI 1756-2DF
HI 1769WS
HI 1769-2WS
HI 1769-FC
HI 3030
HI 4050
HI 4060
HI 6300
HI 6310
HI 6500
HI 6510
HI 6600
The ANY-WEIGH Floor Scale comes with an IT summing board in the HI 215IT Summing Junction Box and if you want to use this floor scale with any of the above listed controllers that do not run the IT you will need to contact the Hardy Factory and ask for a -178 special that would replace the IT summing card with a standard card.
NOTE: The ANY-WEIGH Floor Scales are now listed as a legacy product and have been replaced with the Hardy Floor Scales.
When installing a HI 215IT (Integrated Technician) summing junction box, the instrument load cell cable should have a label attached with the following safety warning:
WARNING: THIS CABLE ATTACHED TO A DEVICE WITH A MAXIMUM EXCITATION VOLTAGE OF 5 VOLTS DC. DO NOT ATTACH THIS CABLE TO AN INSTRUMENT WITH A HIGHER EXCITATION VOLTAGE.
The newer Hardy Floor Scales have a newer style summing card. These newer cards still have a 5 v max level, but these will work without the C2 connections being wired.
