Question

How many Load Cells can I connect to a Hardy Junction Box?

Answer

Note:  Any Integrated Technician summing card can only be used with a unit that has the Integrated Technician capabilities.

The HI 215IT junction box supports up to four load cells and also supports the Integrated Technician (IT) feature for each load cell.
NOTE:  The HI 215IT is now obsolete and is replaced by the HI 6020IT card.

The HI 215JB junction boxes normally supports 4 load cells, but two can be cascaded to allow up to 8 load cells on a vessel. You order two junction boxes , one standard and one with the optional expansion cable connector to utilize more than 4 load cells. The HI 215JB will only provide Integrated technician data as a system (all the load cells in parallel), and cannot read the individual load cell  data.

The HI 6020IT can support up to four load cells and can be cascaded to allow up to 8 load cells on a vessel, provided the unit used has the ability to run two Integrated Technician cards.

The HI 6020JB will support up to four load cells and can be cascaded to allow up to 8 load cells on a vessel.

When installing two cascading summing junction boxes, keep the cable connection between the two as short a possible.

When you use less than 4 load cells in an Integrated Technician summing junction box, you must connect the load cells starting at load cell position # 1 and connect them in sequence.
