Question

How is the wait timer used under the adjust ingredient menu on the HI 3010?

Answer

The HI 3010 wait command timer starts after the scale is out of motion, allowing the in-flight material and scale time to settle before a final weight is declared. If the weight settles below the target Preact, and jog is enabled, jog would restart the material flow (slow feed) and continue towards the target value. If jog is off, or the number of jog requests have been exceeded, an under delivery alarm is displayed.

If you are concerned with fast throughput, the wait time should be minimal. The motion tolerance, under setup menu, also displays wait until the scale is out of motion. Motion tolerance may be a better way to auto adjust the wait time. Using a wait time of zero (0) and set the motion tolerance to 0.03% of the load cell capacity.  (example .0003 x 1000lb scale = a motion tolerance of 0.3)  This setting will give you minimum wait time prior to determining if the scale is within the target Preact parameters. The wait time and motion tolerance timer run sequentially. So this could explain differing wait times after an operation.
