How is the totalizer function operated?

Last updated 04/06/2015 10:33 AM

Question

I keep checking the Totalizer readings by pressing the Mode button and the totalizer always says zero(0). Why won't the Totalizer readings change?

Answer

The HI 2151/30WC has a Totalizer option (-C6) that must be purchased and installed to the SMM. If you can press the mode button and display the Totalizer value, you have the option.  If your controller does not have Totalizer option contact the Hardy Service Center for information at hsc@hardysolutions.com.

The Totalizer collects the NET weight after each weigh reading, but this collection is not automatic on the HI 2151/30WC.  There is a contact closure required on the remote input connector from the GND to Totalizer terminal. Caution: making that contact more than once per batch will add that net weight to the total multiple times.

If you have multiple ingredients with multiple tare operations you will need to energize the Totalizer after each ingredient and before you tare the scale to load the next ingredient.

To clear the Totalizer at the end of a session, select the Totalizer mode, and press test/clr. The Totalizer will read zero (0).

The HI 3010 has a Totalizer function built in as a standard feature. This is a "make active" in the configuration software to automatically collect totals per batch and per ingredient and clear any or all Totalizer registers.
