Question

How is the "OK to fill/dispense" input used on the HI 3010?

Answer

The "OK to fill/dispense" tells you the process is OK to continue and an expected event has happened.

An application example would be a platform or bench scale. The process is to place an empty box in position to be filled.  A switch or light beam is made and an the OK to fill/dispense input is set positive on one of the HI 3010 inputs.  To make an input the OK to Fill input, mapping must be performed using the web browser.  An example is:

HO1.4(OK to Fill) = +HI0.0(Input 1)

With auto tare enabled and the OK to fill or dispense signal positive the process can start. Setting a box on the scale enables the OK to Fill condition as positive, TAREs the box weight so the start weight will equal NET 0.  If prior to completing the fill/dispense operation the box was removed, the OK to fill/dispense input alarms and stops the fill/dispense process. An alarm indication alerts the operator that the process was not completed  because you lost OK to Fill/dispense and requires operator intervention.

There is also a timer associated with this OK signal. If the process has started and the OK input is not triggered within a set amount of time an alarm indication alerts the operator.
