Question

How does the HI 3010 refill parameter work?

Answer

With a filler system you can have a major vessel that supplies material into an intermediate vessel that is metering material onto a scale. The intermediate vessel may not have a weight controller attached, but you do want to monitor the product level to ensure you don't run out of material. With the use of two inputs, refill low and refill high, the intermediate vessel product level can be maintained using a HI 3010.

Install a level indicating sensors at the desired levels on the intermediate vessel. Provide dry contact closure to the mapped inputs and common. When the low level is reached, the HI 3010 refill low input is active and the refill signal output is activated. This activates an output that can open a gate until the high level sensor activates the high refill input. This process of sensing the low and high levels to control the fill gate will keep the intermediate vessel filled to within the desired range.

The Dispensing mode use load cell weight levels to trigger refills.  The dispenser will not start a new batch unless there is sufficient product to complete the batch request.
