How does the fast weight setting work on the HI 3010?

The fast weight setting parameter is a preact adjustment weight for the target fast weight. This is set under the speed parameter in the individual ingredients menus. This is similar to the slow fill preact, except is used to make sure you get a maximum high speed fill rate. Running the fast fill rate for the maximum time improves throughput.

NOTE: The 'Display Absolute Weights' parameter found under Instrument Setup is set to OFF, then the Fast Target weight and preacts will be an offset of the target weight.  If set to ON, the fast target weight and preacts will be absolute weight values.

If Display Absolute Weights is set to OFF:
For example, where the target is 20 Kg:

Setting the fast weight setting (which would be an offset) to 2 Kg means the fast fill will stop 2 Kg from the target weight of 18 Kg. This allows for in flight materials and the amount of time required to close the gate, stop a flow, allow the slow fill to have a clean flow or close a valve.

You may select the Auto Fast Adjust to achieve the fastest fills and vary the fast fill set point automatically according to material, or environmental changes. Auto fast uses the fast weight setting as a starting point, this is to minimize the slow or dribble feed time. 

This option adjusts the fast fill level constantly. This can be a problem with consistent fill times. We suggest running with the Auto Fast fill ON and determine a good fast fill set point and convert the number auto fast fill determined to the fast fill set point. This allows a predetermined time for the slow fill. If the fill process needs to be faster, slowly decrease the fast fill amount to fast fill closer to the fill target. You can also increase the slow fill speed and use the auto preact feature to control the shut off point.  Insure there is not any overlap for the slow fill target and the fast fill target.

Result target:  Set the fast fill target parameter so you never over fill in the fast fill mode and have a very short on no slow fill.

Suggestion is to set the fast fill preact using only fast fill and then with that target set.  Disable the fast fill adjust and turn on the slow fill.
