How do you interpret the STATUSWORD in the HI 1756WS manual?

Last updated 04/11/2016 04:11 AM

Question

In the HI 1756WS manual, what is the meaning of the number between the "Word" column and the "Definition" column for the STATUSWORD?

Answer

The "Number" value, in the table between Word and Definition, is the hex value for the status indicated.  So, as an example, if you get a value of 0040 hex (64 decimal) it would indicate the scale is in motion.

Keep in mind that the STATUSWORD will be a combination of all applicable bits at any time.  So, an example of this would be if you had a value of 8041 hex, (32,833 decimal), it would indicate you have the channels enabled, it is in motion, and it has an A/D converter error.
