Question

How do I configure the HI 1746 for Local or Remote chassis operation?

Answer

To set up communication between the SLC and the HI 1746WS weigh scale module, you will need to select or enter the following information into the I/O Configuration section of your software.

For using the module in the Local chassis:
Type of Device Category:  Other

I/O card ID code:        13635
Scanned Input Words        32
Scanned Output Words     32
Interrupt Service Routine     x
M0 Length                       128
M1 Length                       128
G File Length                       0

Scanned Input words is the number of input words the processor will scan.
Scanned Output words is the number of output words the processor will scan.
Interrupt Service Routine is the routine the processor will run when a service request is initiated by the module.
M0 is an Output data file or Control file residing in the module.
M1 is an Input data file or Control file residing in the module.

For using the module in a Remote chassis:
In this instance, you would set up the module in the I/O configuration under the communication module being used between the local and remote chassis.

If you wish to place the HI 1746 WS module into the local rack, but have it behave as if it were in a remote chassis (this would normally only be used for testing purposes):

NOTE:  For use in a remote chassis, the remote operation jumper, JP1, should be placed in the ON position.
