How can I recover from a bad calibration using the HI 1756WS?

Last updated 02/17/2015 02:59 AM

Question

I attempted to do a calibration on my HI 1756WS module and now the weight readings are very unstable. When I attempt to re-calibrate I get errors preventing the calibration from completing. How can I recover from this condition?

Answer

Sometimes when a calibration/setup is attempted the parameter settings entered can cause a conflict in the HI 1756WS or the HI 1756-2WS module. This can then cause problems when trying to setup the module, requiring the operator to find these conflicting parameters and reset them to allow a new setup. This can be confusing and time consuming.

The easiest way to overcome this condition is to run the Reload Non-Volatile memory command (command #10 hex). This will reset the module to the condition when the last Save was done. Be sure the Save or Write Non-Volatile command is not issued until the you are sure the setup is acceptable.

Another command that would work would be the Set Default Parameters command (command number 94 hex). This will restore the module to default settings.
