How can I receive firmware update notifications for my HI 1756-FC?

We will update this WebTech answer whenever the firmware has been updated on the HI 1756-FC. To download the latest version of firmware go to the HI 1756-FC products page and click on the Docs and Programs tab. Find the firmware download file towards the bottom of the page which includes the firmware upgrade instructions.

Version 1.7: For SERIES B modules only; DO NOT INSTALL SERIES B FIRMWARE INTO SERIES C UNIT.

Version 3.6: for SERIES C modules only; DO NOT INSTALL SERIES C FIRMWARE INTO SERIES B UNIT.

Prior to starting the upgrade, ensure you perform a “SAVE TO NON-VOLATILE” command. Tests have shown that the upgrade will not change the non-volatile memory, but during the upgrade the module does get reset and all values will return to previously saved values. You should not need to reconfigure the module after upgrade, but it is advisable to verify the correct calibration of the scale before resuming operation.

CAUTION: DO NOT INTERRUPT THE DOWNLOAD ONCE STARTED. IF INTERRUPTED MODULE MAY NEED TO BE RETURNED TO FACTORY FOR RECOVERY. IF UPGRADE FAILS, RUN AGAIN. DO NOT POWER DOWN MODULE BEFORE COMPLETING FLASH UPGRADE.
