To download the latest version of firmware go to the HI 1756-WS and 2WS products page and click on the Docs and Programs tab. Find the firmware download file towards the bottom of the page which includes the firmware upgrade instructions.
The latest version of HI 1756-WS or HI 1756-2WS firmware is:
for Series A or B units; latest version is 2.6
For Series C units; latest version is 3.7
CAUTION: Loading the incorrect Series firmware will make your module inoperable and may require returning to the factory for correction.
Prior to starting the upgrade, ensure you perform a “SAVE TO NON-VOLATILE” command. If you have a dual channel module HI 1756-2WS, then you must perform a “SAVE TO NON-VOLATILE” command to both channels. Tests have shown that the upgrade will not change the non-volatile memory, but during the upgrade the module does get reset and all values will return to previously saved values. You should not need to reconfigure the module after upgrade, but it is advisable to verify the correct calibration of the scale before resuming operation.
CAUTION: DO NOT INTERRUPT THE DOWNLOAD ONCE STARTED. IF INTERRUPTED MODULE MAY NEED TO BE RETURNED TO FACTORY FOR RECOVERY. IF UPGRADE FAILS, RUN AGAIN. DO NOT POWER DOWN MODULE BEFORE COMPLETING FLASH UPGRADE.
