How can I calibrate in KG using C2® calibration?

Last updated 04/07/2014 10:03 AM

Question

I can't get my  HI 2151/30WC, HI 2110WI,  HI 1771WS or HI 2160RCplus to read weight in KG. How can I calibrate in KG using C2® calibration?

Answer

In most Hardy controllers there is a units setting in the Configuration Setup to choose pounds or kilograms. In the HI 2151/30WC, HI 2110 WI,  and HI 1771WS you select the desired units (LB or KG) and perform the C2 calibration per instructions in the manual.

For the HI 2160RCplus, there isn't an automatic software conversion process that will automatically convert pounds to kilograms. The way to get around this problem is as follows:

1. Do a C2® calibration in pounds.
2. Then fill the hopper to the stop high level.
3. Using the weight reading on the scale in pounds, convert to KG and record this data. (example:100 lb x .4536 = 45.36kg)
4. With the material still in the scale, Re-enter the calibration menu and arrow past the zero parameter.
5. Enter that KG value into the Hard calibration SPAN value. Accept the span value.
6. Change your units label to indicate you are now weighing in KG.
