Does any Hardy Instrument come in an explosion-proof box?

Hardy Process Solutions does not provide explosion-proof boxes for any of our Process Weighing units. Some models are available with a stainless steel NEMA 4X enclosure, but these would not be considered explosion-proof. If you have a location that is considered a hazardous area, you would need to install your Hardy controller in a safe area and use intrinsic barriers between the load cell and the hazardous area.

Any explosion proof enclosure would need to be specified by the ruling engineer of the project, who has the final say on what device can and cannot be installed in your hazardous area. 

These type of enclosures generally have a X, Y or Z purge air pressure system attached.  Hardy Process Solutionsdoes not provide these types of enclosures.

The idea behind an explosion proof enclosure is to create a safe area where the two atmospheres do no mix.
