Do I have direct M File mapping in my HI 1746WS?

Last updated 03/20/2014 03:37 AM

Question

How can I tell if I have the direct M File mapping available to use in my HI 1746WS module?

Answer

The easiest way to see if you have the direct M File mapping available in your HI 1746WS module is to check the Series of the module. There are three Series levels of the modules. The Series B and Series C modules have the direct mapping available.

If the label does not have a Series level indicated, then it is a Series A module. If you have one of these, then you will need to check the firmware level of the module. You can do this in one of two ways:

1. Use the WS100 configuration software. On the Parameters screen of the configuration software, it shows the firmware level of the module.

2. In the SLC Input table for the module, word #17, lists the firmware revision. You need a firmware level of at least version 2.0 to have M File mapping available.
