Can my HI 3010 do an auto print at the end of a cycle?

Last updated 08/11/2014 09:09 AM

Question

I would like my HI 3010 to do a print at the end of each fill cycle, but would rather not rely on pressing the print button each time. Can the unit be set up to do the print automatically?

Answer

Yes, the HI 3010 can do a print at the end of each cycle. The setup menu for the serial port of the unit has an entry "Auto Print" that will enable/disable the auto print function. When turned ON, the HI 3010 will perform as follows:

At the start of the process, print header information which includes:
• Date and time of the Fill/Dispense
• Instrument ID
• Ingredient ID
• Amount Requested
• Number of Fills/Dispenses Requested
• User ID

Then as each cycle is completed it will print:
• Time each fill began
• Amount Requested per fill/dispense cycle
• Actual amount received per fill/dispense cycle
• Alarms that occurred and times
• Acceptance or Rejection of a fill/dispense and time

At the end of the current fill cycles, it will print:
• Total Number of Cycles
• Total Weight of the Fill/Dispense

If your printer communications rate is too fast for your printer, the print is garbled and looks like information is missing. If this is the case, reduce the baud rate or increase the printer buffer size to a level the printer can handle. The process will not wait on the printer and starts the next batch as soon as conditions are OK.
