Click Here to Learn More! The HI 4050, HI 4060 and the 3000 series controller have an RS232 serial port that can be configured to go to a printer or to an external scoreboard display. To configure for either a printer or scoreboard read the Serial Port section in the manual that is available online at www.hardysolutions.com go to the products page for the unit and on the Docs and Programs tab, you should find a link for the manual.
If you configure your RS232 serial port as a printer port, then the output selected will only be sent out when the "print" command is sent. This command can be sent by pressing the "print" button on the front of the unit, or you can map the print command through the browser. If you map the print command through the browser, it can be from one of the digital inputs, or from an input over the communications port (EIP, DeviceNet, Modbus, or Profibus).
If you configure your RS232 serial port as a scoreboard output, then the reading selected on the front display will be sent out continuously from the serial port.
