Can I change modes on the Analog output card from the remote functions?

Last updated 10/20/2014 10:24 AM

Question

I'm using a HI 2151/30WC with an analog output option card for the load weight on an overhead crane.  I'm using the remote functions NET & TARE on the input terminals.  When I place the controller in NET mode, using the terminals (or the front pushbutton), the analog output is still in GROSS.  Is there a way to get the analog output option card to output the NET weight when the controller is in NET mode?

Answer

The analog output from the HI 2151/30WC can be set up for a single input mode selection.  This can be any of the available modes, including Gross, Net and any optional modes you have.

If you are getting Gross weight on your HI 2151/30WC analog output, and desire Net weight, you would need to go into the analog output option menu and change the mode.  This input mode is selectable when you set up the range of the analog output.

When setting the HIGH input value for the analog option, you would use the MODE selection button to select the mode you want the analog output to follow.  The analog output will always follow this mode setting.  This mode cannot be altered by using the remote function inputs.

If you need the analog output to follow both Gross and Net mode, you would need to have two analog output option cards.
