Why doesn't channel 2 work on my new HI 1756-2WS?

I was having problems with my new HI 1756-2WS and replaced it with a new module. Now I cannot get channel 2 to read anything. What could cause channel 2 to not work on my new HI 1756-2WS?

If your second channel is not activated, the scale led will be OFF.  If the scale LED is ON, the channel is activated and there may be another problem.  You can identify a single channel HI 1756WS having a single scale LED and a 9 pin load cell connector. A single channel HI 1756WS is missing A/D converter parts for the second channel.

Occasionally when new HI 1756-2WS modules are shipped, the parameter for channel 2 enable is not equal to a 1or if the module was put into default configuration. You can check to verify channel 2 is properly enabled in your HI 1756-2WS as follows:

Use the read parameter command with channel = 1. The first parameter is the channel enable word. Make that word equal to 1. Do a write parameter command and the channel will now be active.
