Why did the update fail on my HI 1771WS?

When the update fails it normally is because the version level of the Rockwell WS.dll file is higher than the upgrade file from Hardy. 

If you are unable to update your HI 1771WS Weigh scale software try the following steps:

1. Delete or rename the existing WS.dll file from the Rockwell software directories. This file can be found in the RScommon directory. Then install the new software.

2. Check the title bar in the configuration software. If the software is upgraded properly the title bar will have the Hardy Instruments name in the title bar. If it says HI 1771WS, without the Hardy name, then you are still on the Rockwell version.

3. Some earlier versions of Rockwell software do not contain the Weigh Scale software. Versions 4.0.0 and higher are issued with the weigh Scale software configured.
