Why can't I access the cal and option menu on my HI 2151/30WC or HI 2110WI?

Last updated 02-20-2014 10:36

Question

I am unable to access the Cal and Option menu on my HI 2110WI or HI 2151/30WC. Could they have a faulty keypad?

Answer

On your HI 2110WI or HI 2151/30WC, the OPTION button can be locked out from the rear panel using the S3 dip switch (OPTION). The CAL access cannot be locked out and if you cannot access this menu it may be a malfunction of the keypad.

When you press the CAL button, is there any error message or display change?

Normal access to the calibration menu is achieved by pressing the CAL button then pressing the ENTER button. When SECCD appears, type 5321 and press ENTER. The UNITS menu selection should appear.

ERR 5 means you are in NET mode. ERR 8 means the password is incorrect.

To determine if you have a malfunctioning keypad, press the TST/CLR button and enter the self-test program. Self-test will scroll through and at the end display KEYBD. At this point pressing each key should send a response to the display. Push the keys you think might be malfunctioning. Pressing EXIT will terminate the test, so make the EXIT key your last test.

Keypads are field replaceable. Attached is a Tech Note that describes how to replace your keypad.
