The HI 3010 and HI 3030 units of measure changes may be made using the UNITS button on the front display. This changes are not permanent and will revert back to the selection in the setup menus at power cycle.
For example, changing from lbs to grams will also increase the number of decimal points to give the equivalent number in grams. The set points and target numbers will all be converted to the same unit of measure. There aren't any other changes required to compete the conversion.
This is not true on the HI 2110WI, HI 2151/30WC, or HI 2160RC.
The HI 2110WI, HI 2151/30WC, or HI 2160RC do not automatically make any changes. Parameters that have any weight parameter and tolerance setting must be manually changed. Changing units from lbs to kg require you convert all the settings from the old metric to the new metric.
The HI 200 DNWM has metric selections to change the output between lbs and kgs. The parameters have both a lb and kg version, so no other parameters will change with the change between lbs and kgs. The default output is only NET weight and this will change with a change in the metric parameter. This default output is three decimal place resolution.
If you choose to use the Command Interface to select a different output from the default out, then you will select the parameter to read. This parameter selection will be either in lbs or kgs (one of each available). The output selected by the Command Interface is not effected by the metric setting. However, there is a Multiplier setting in the unit which all weight related values either read or written through the Command Interface will be affected by. Example: If the Command Interface is used to read a parameter which reads as 1234, and the multiplier is set to 100, (10^2), there would be 2 implied decimal places, so the value is 12.34. All parameters will be written/read based on the current setting being used.
The HI 1771 WS has a decimal setting. Changing this setting will cause the weights to be altered based on the new setting. In order to change the units of measure, you must do the block transfer, which includes all the parameter settings, so if a change is made, the change would also need to be made to the parameter settings, otherwise, values will remain the same, but interpreted in the new units. Example: If the unit was set up in lbs and the motion tolerance was 5 (5 lb) and a change to the units of measure was made from lbs to kgs. If the motion tolerance was not changed before doing the write, then the value 5 was written to the module, but now would be interpreted as 5 kg instead of 5 lb.
The HI 1746WS modules have a Metric setting to change between lbs and kgs. If you change this value, the other values in the module will change accordingly. The module also has a Multiplier setting. This will effect all weight readings and parameters that are weight settings, like motion tol. etc. The multiplier will be a power of 10 and the number of places will be implied by the power value. Example: If the multiplier is 100, (10^2), then all the weight values will have implied 2 decimal places. So a value of 123 is actually 1.23. If you change your multiplier all the parameters with weight values will updated.
HI 1769WS has a metrics parameter and a write metric command. This command controls the units of measure and the decimal places if integer
