What does word 14, bit 3 "Apply Settings" refer to on my HI 1746WS?

On the HI 1746WS modules, Bit 3 of Word 14, "Apply Settings" bit is used when changing your setpoint settings through the I/O tables. If you make a change to any of the setpoint settings, Words 0 - 13, in the output table, they will not be written to the module until you set the Apply Settings bit. Without setting this bit, the module will ignore any changes in the setpoint settings in the output table.

NOTE: When this bit is set, the module will read and reset all the setpoint settings to these new settings (all words from 0 to 13 will be applied to the setpoints at that time).  The user must insure that all these values are correct, not just the ones being changed.
