How many words can be mapped into my HI 3000 series unit interfaced to ControlLogix?

Question

I have four Hardy HI 3000 series units on a system.  They are connected together over Ethernet with one being connected to a ControlLogix processor over ControlNet. I am sending information to the one HI 3000 series connected to the ControlLogix processor and seem to encounter a limit of 64 words into this HI 3000. Is there a word limit? If there is a limit, what is the exact number of words I can map into the one 3000 series connected to the ControlLogix processor?

Answer

The Hardy Control Link communications between units will have 64 words (16 bit words) output from each unit.  These units will have 64 words input from each unit configured in the Hardy Control Link communications of that unit.  So, each unit can only output 64 words, but can input up to 64 words from each of 16 other units.

The HI 3000 series unit (which includes the HI 3010, HI 3030, HI 3300 and the HI 3600) with the ControlNet option has 125 words* available for data in both the ControlNet input and output tables to the PLC. These are 16 bit words. This unit can then receive up to 64 words of data from each of the other HI 3000 series units, but is limited by the 125 words to transfer to the PLC.

*NOTE: The output table words will be numbered 0 to 124, and the input will be 0 to 126, but words 0 & 1 are reserved and cannot be used.
