How do I order an option for my HI 2151/30WC?

We purchased a HI 2151/30WC without any options. Can I order a option board and install it myself, or do I have to send the unit in? If I send it in, what steps do I need to take to make this happen?

You can order the option boards separately and install it yourself or send it to us and we will install it for you at a nominal cost. The part numbers for the HI 2151/30WC option boards are as follows:

HI 2151/30xx-B1 for Analog Out  
HI2151/30xx-D2 for extra relays
HI 2151/30xx-B2 for Binary Coded Decimal (BCD)
HI 2151/30xx-B8 for Remote I/O
HI 2151/30xx-B12 for Profibus
NOTE:  If adding the B12 option to an existing unit that was not ordered with this option, you may need to also replace the firmware in the unit.  On the later main controller card a jumper was installed towards the center of the card.  To load the correct software move the jumper.  They are label B8 and B12.  Contact the factory to help with this firmware change.

If you install them yourself, please make sure you observe standard ESD (Electro-Static Discharge) practices while handling sensitive electronic components to prevent damage to your new option. Remove power from your instrument and plug your new option board into the motherboard in either of the two option slots and secure it with the 4 screws that should come with the option.

If you do not want to install the option board yourself you can send us your instrument. Call in for a Return Authorization number or fill out the online RA request form.

The cost for us to perform the option installation and test functionality is one hour labor plus the cost of the option.
