ANALOG OUT CALIBRATION TECHNIQUE
1. To determine the correct weight scaling in the PLC.
a.Using an empty vessel (Gross or tare weight = 0) If the vessel is not empty, use the tare button and get a NET 0 weight reading.
b.Set the following Analog-out levels under OPTION.
c.Analog LO = 1000, Analog HI = 0 (Gross or net) (NET if using the tare button.)
d. This setting represents a full-scale output.
e. Check the read out on the PLC. This number represents the full scale reading on the PLC.
f. Change the analog-out settings under OPTION.
g. Analog-out LO=0, Analog-out HI= xx ,
h. (xx = the full scale reading from the PLC).
You may get an error 55. Pressing the ZERO button will advance to the next setting. Change the second setting and then confirm the first setting is correct.
2. The PLC should now read 0
a. Reversing the Lo and Hi setting will output full scale or zero.
b. Use this to determine if the Analog-out and needs adjustments.
c. Follow the instructions in the manual (page 4-5 and 4-6 for the HI 2151/30WC)
3. If you are using a Panel Mount unit, you must access the adjustment without power applied.
a. High voltage signals will be exposed and represent a shock hazard.
b. Set the Analog-out levels and compare with the readings received at the PLC.
c. Adjust the voltage levels first and then the current levels after the voltage levels are satisfactory.
d. Power down the unit and access the appropriate Trim-pot. Wall mount units provide you with active access and the unit does not need to be powered off to adjust the trim pots.
i. Voltage span = R4, zero = R16
ii. Current span = R5, zero = R19
e. (Panel mount only) Re-apply power and again compare the displayed weight with the PLC readings.
f. Continue this comparison, power down and adjustment to reach a satisfactory reading.
g. Reverse the Analog-out setting under Options and compare the displayed readings to the PLC readings.
h. Repeat to adjust as required.
There is a method of drilling 4 1/4" holes to give access to the Trim pots to avoid the c
