As long as the ESTOP input is held on, the controller stays in NOT OK to FEED. You can also program a bit across communications for NOT OK to FEED. But with loss of communications this could make this unreliable.
You can close the input during a run condition, auto or manual, all stops with NOT OK TO FEED alarm on the front display and a similar status bit. As long at that contact is held, you cannot start. Releasing the input and pressing START and the feed is resumed, but batch amounts restart and the rate starts using the rate lookup table.
I used the preprogrammed switch input 3 to Com located on the back panel to the right of the relay terminals.
Pin 3 to pin 6.
No mapping required. These inputs are part of the default mapping.
